Film/Stage Notes
GO (Role: 'Joe Ferrari'/Sports Car Man)
Directed by Doug Liman; also stars Sarah Polley, Katie Homes, Taye Diggs, Jay Mohr, Scott Wolf (Great cast!)
GO got me my SAG card, for which I'll be eternally grateful to Doug Liman and Donna Wauhob (my loveable agent). It's also arguably the PERFECT film; a humorous 'Pulp Fiction' where nobody gets killed. For instance, Taye Diggs and Desmond Askew steal my Ferrari but I (presumably) end up getting it back. Now available on VHS/DVD at Reel.com, Blockbuster, etc. |

BIOHAZARD: THE ALIEN FORCE (Role: 'Hans Kuft'/Male Model)
Directed/Written/Produced by Pat Moran and Steve Latshaw; starring Steve Zurk, Susan Fronsoe and features Chris Mitchum
BIOHAZARD is a budget sci-fi/horror film shot in Florida, and is reminiscent of 60's drive-in flicks (HUMANOIDS FROM THE DEEP, etc.) In it, evil geniuses design a mutant capable of surviving a nuclear war. The mutant escapes from its lab and begins hunting down and killing its human DNA donors...one of which is my boss/lover, the dead-sexy Catherine Gulliver.

IMMORTAL (Role: "Candyman"...Also Production Coordinator)
Directed by two college kids who still owe me . Produced by Steve "C'mon, it'll be fun" Williams. Starring a bunch of musicians from Chapel Hill, NC. Almost photographed by Jay Spain. FX Makeup by Trish Antonucci, the only good thing about the film.
All vitriol aside, IMMORTAL was a decent learning experience and another example about how filmmakers really CAN get blood from a stone, just by virtue of saying "We're making a movie"...Your humble servant arranged crew meals for free, parking for free, locations for free, even free ZIMA for a concert scene, and got Extras to work for free.
The story of IMMORTAL...about a rock guitarist inflicted with vampirism...had ENORMOUS potential and was really quite clever, except that 75% OF THE FILM IS OUT OF FOCUS. If you can even see it, I play an obnoxious moviegoer who gets killed/drained by the vampire, and candy wrappers get shoved into my slashed throat...a neat touch, I thought.

FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS (Role: 'Jailbait Groom')
Directed by Terry Gilliam, Starring Johnny Depp & Benicio Del Toro
While I normally don't include Extra Work on my credits (it's barely even 'work', after all), I include FEAR AND LOATHING because of the embarrassment. I was put in a PINK TUXEDO with taped 'nerd glasses' and forced to enter a Wedding Chapel with my 70 year-old "Bride", greeted by Elvis and a midget photographer. Johnny Depp, as Hunter S. Thompson, watches from the sidewalk, convinced we're Hallucination #4,295.
Huge THANKS to Terry Gilliam for letting me ditch the stupid glasses during the actual scene.
A POX on the hideous, gargoyle-like "Wardrobe Woman" for making me look...GAHHH, never mind, let's move on... |

MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM (Role: Demetrius)
Nevada Stage Company; directed by Donna Lowre; starring Tina Rice, Donna, Mike, ummm, sorry, it's been a while...How 'bout 'Cast of Hundreds'? My first Shakespearean experience, an actual PAYING role (Gasp!), and an incredible stage/set & costumes. Overall an overwhelmingly great, majestic, positive experience; an expert cast with almost no dropped lines. Acoustics were a problem for most actors except for your cannon-voiced loudmouthed Humble Servant. |
